1. Uvod

The Kidde 7DCOC Digital Carbon Monoxide Alarm is designed to continuously monitor for the presence of carbon monoxide (CO) gas. This device provides continuous protection against the effects of CO, a colorless, odorless, and poisonous gas. It features a digital display that shows detected CO levels and dual LED indicators for alarm and normal operation status. This alarm is suitable for use in homes, rented accommodation, caravans, and boats, complying with EN50291.2010 standards, Parts 1 and 2.

Pomembno: This carbon monoxide alarm is designed to detect carbon monoxide gas from any source of combustion. It is not designed to detect smoke, fire, or any other gas. • Never ignore a CO alarm. Act immediately upon activation.
• Do not paint the alarm. Paint can clog the openings and interfere with the sensor's ability to detect CO.

4. Nastavitev in namestitev

4.1 Namestitev baterije

The Kidde 7DCOC alarm is battery-operated and requires 3 AA alkaline batteries. If batteries are not pre-installed, open the battery compartment on the back of the unit and insert the batteries, matching the polarity indicators (+ and -).

4.2 Izbira lokacije

For optimal detection, install the CO alarm in the following locations:

• On every level of your home, especially near sleeping areas.
• Within 10 feet (3 meters) of fuel-burning appliances.
• In rooms where people spend a lot of time.

Avoid installing the alarm in:

• Garages, kitchens, furnace rooms, or bathrooms.
• Areas with extreme temperatures (below 0°C or above 40°C).
• Direct sunlight or near vents, doors, or windows.

4.3 Montaža alarma

The alarm can be wall-mounted or placed on a tabletop or shelf.

1. Select a suitable location on a wall, away from corners and obstructions.
2. Mark the positions for the two mounting screws using the alarm's keyhole slots as a template.
3. Drill two holes and insert the provided wall plugs.
4. Insert the screws, leaving a small gap between the screw head and the wall.
5. Align the keyhole slots on the back of the alarm with the screws and slide the alarm down to secure it.

For Tabletop/Shelf Placement:

Simply place the alarm on a flat, stable surface in your chosen location. Ensure it is not easily knocked over and is within audible range of sleeping areas.

5. Navodila za uporabo

5.1 Vklop

Once batteries are installed, the alarm will automatically power on and begin its initial self-test. The digital display will show '0 PPM' (parts per million) under normal conditions, and the green LED will flash periodically, indicating normal operation.

5.2 LED indikatorji

• Zelena LED: Flashes approximately every 30 seconds, indicating normal operation and sufficient battery power.
• Rdeča LED: Illuminates and flashes rapidly when the alarm detects dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.

5.3 Digitalni zaslon

The digital display continuously shows the detected carbon monoxide levels in PPM. In the absence of CO, it typically displays '0 PPM'.

5.4 Gumb za testiranje/ponastavitev

• Silence a sounding alarm for a short period (if CO levels are not critically high).

5.5 Alarmni pogoji

When CO is detected at dangerous levels, the alarm will sound a loud intermittent horn, and the red LED will flash. The digital display will show the detected CO concentration. Follow these steps:

1. Immediately move to fresh air outdoors or open all doors and windows.
2. Call emergency services (fire department or 911/local equivalent).
3. Do not re-enter the premises until it has been aired out and the CO source has been identified and corrected.

6.1 Tedensko testiranje

Test your CO alarm weekly by pressing and holding the Test/Ponastavitev button until the alarm sounds. This confirms the unit's electronic circuitry and horn are functioning correctly.

6.2 Čiščenje

Clean the alarm regularly to prevent dust and debris from accumulating. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use cleaning solvents or spray directly onto the alarm. Do not remove the cover or attempt to clean the interior.

6.3 Zamenjava baterije

The alarm will indicate a low battery condition with a chirp and a 'Lb' message on the digital display. Replace all three AA alkaline batteries immediately. Refer to section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.

6.4 End of Life Warning

The Kidde 7DCOC has a 10-year sensor life. After approximately 10 years from the date of manufacture, the unit will indicate an end-of-life warning (e.g., 'End' on the display or specific chirp pattern). When this occurs, the entire alarm unit must be replaced.
